The Importance of Relaxation.
We need to relax to enjoy ourselves. We need to relax so that good energy of enjoyment can flow through our mind, and body and into our physical experience.
When we are doing a lot of hard monotonous work, it is good to stop and do something fun to break up the monotony. This keeps us sane.
It is important to sleep 8 hours every night so that we can be rejuvenated and refreshed in the morning.
It is important to take a holiday every so often, to see new things and experience something new.
It is also important to party and socialise with moderation. This will relieve stress, and increase relaxation and excitement.
The immune system works better when we are feeling relaxed. We recover from illness quicker, when we are relaxed.
Also the body needs to be taken care of so that it can relax. For example the body may need to be moisturised in dry areas, it may need exercise to increase circulation, or it may need total rest and lying down to come back to a neutral feeling.
Sometimes we have to let go of detrimental people and situations that are making us tense and stressed, before we can relax.
Some things that you can do to relax are:
– Have a nap
– Go for a gentle swim
– Eat an apple
– Have some vitamin C
– Get some sunlight on your skin
– Go for a walk in a park
– Eat some fish
– Speak to a friend
– Go to the beach
– Do yoga
– Play a game with others or by yourself
– Think about pleasant memories and pleasant people
– Draw and paint
– Go to an art museum
– Listen to music you enjoy
